Sabres extend Tage Thompson with seven-year, $50M deal
Forward Tage Thompson has agreed to a seven-year, $50 million agreement with the Buffalo Sabres, starting in the 2023-24 season.
The contract's $7.143M cap hit is valid from 2030 through 2031.
The pride we demand of every player who dons a Buffalo Sabres shirt is personified by Tage Thompson.
We are happy to have Tage and his family in Buffalo for an extended period of time by extending their contract.
In 2021-2022 Thompson, who will turn 25 in October, erupted for a breakthrough campaign.
Thompson played in 78 games and set new single-digit career highs in goals and assists.
For a season with more than 15 points, more than $7M every season is a significant investment.
